Creating a circular economy

We’re committed to creating a circular economy in Tasman by offering sustainable recycling and diversion options, consultancy and education.

Divert up to 95% of waste to landfill

Deconstruction

Are you looking at taking down a building?
Do you want to make a difference for the environment, then think deconstruction!

If you choose to deconstruct your house with us we can divert up to 95% of waste to landfill depending on the make and age of the building.

The deconstruction of buildings is a manual process where all materials that can be recovered for reuse are carefully removed and returned to our yard where we prepare them for sale.

Deconstruction rather than demolition gives us the opportunity to recover a great deal of resources. We have recovered a lot of framing timber, roofing iron, roofing tiles, bricks, doors, windows and native timbers like rimu and matai and give them another life in people’s homes. Rather than wasting these beautiful and precious natural resources, they will be processed to be part of and preserved in family homes as flooring, lining or decorative paneling or turned into furniture for future generations to enjoy.

By recovering (de)construction waste, we can help look after Aoteraroa’s natural resources and reduce our impact on the need to take from the environment.

We have received much public positive feedback at our deconstruction sites as people can see how much material is still re-usable. Deconstructions inject a large amount of material into Tasman’s circular economy and provides sustainable recovered building materials for your backyard projects.
